For our latest SUPPLIER FOCUS feature, we caught up with the fab Aneesa McGladdery, Sales Manager for Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort - to find a little bit about her and this fab venue!
Q. In a nutshell, tell us about your business and your role there
A. Oooh, where do I start?! So Crow Wood Hotel sits on the Crow Wood Leisure Resort, which was established 20 years ago this year! The hotel forms part of our Crow Wood Leisure Club, Global Day Spa Award Winner The Woodland Spa, Soccer Burnley, Bertram’s Restaurant and many more outlets! My role is Sales Manager, and I look after corporate events, special corporate rates and business development for the resort.
Q. How did you get started in the industry?
A. Gosh, I sort of fell into it! I had graduated uni and applied for hundreds of jobs (like you do) and got my first role as a conference coordinator for Carlson Wagonlit, moved abroad and came back and got a part time job with Marriott as a sales researcher whilst I was doing my masters degree. I loved it so much I decided to pursue my career in hotel sales!
Q. Best moment for you at your company so far?
A. The best moment for me, was 1 week prior to our opening. We hosted a local networking group who are big influencers in the area (around 270 people in total) and the night before the hotel still looked like a building site and I just thought ‘there is no way it’s going to be ready for tomorrow’s breakfast event’ I walked in at 5am, and the sight just took my breath away! It looked unreal, I couldn’t believe how it had all come together and I just felt so lucky to be part of the story from the beginning!
Q. How can your organisation’s services make a Delegate Wrangler’s life easier?
A. We can pretty much do whatever it is you need, we have an incredibly flexible function space that can take up to 400 people, we have 40 acres of Parkland which is perfect for team building and we have so many links in the local area so if you need any other stakeholders involved in your event then we are perfect for you!
Q. And finally - you’ve got one question to ask a famous person – who would it be and what would you ask?
A. I would ask a question to Freddie Mercury and my question would be: “Who would you like to collaborate with in the current music industry?”
