The team here at Surrey Chambers would like to say a massive congratulations as Woodhaven Space has been chosen for the 'Outstanding Support In The Community Award' at our President's Awards Reception. You have been selected out of 100s of other businesses to be recognised. You deserve this award as you have provided an outstanding level of support for the Surrey community throughout this pandemic.
Nicky Yates, wellbeing coach and Event Director at Woodhaven Space said “When the independent family business suspended normal business back in March the whole family got involved making over 2,500 snacks and treats and packaging them for the NHS frontline as part of a charity initiative run by Surrey Event Professionals, @Surreydrive.”
Nicky enthused “How fabulous to be recognised in this challenging year! 2020 has been horrendous for most of us in the Events and Travel sectors, it was really important for our mental health to have been able to do something to help others! “
Woodhaven Space has implemented their own strict Covid-Safe guidelines and the team sincerely hope that we can start to plan for the future again. “We are delighted to be open, having just hosted a few virtual and hybrid conferences in the Summer and proud that includes a charity “at cost offer” for BACCN Annual Conference (British Association of Critical Care Nurses) who found us from a recommendation on Delegate Wranglers.” BACCN will be in Woking next week to broadcast live from 6 rooms within Woodhaven Space using the dual hi speed fibre broadband.
Woodhaven Space reopened with a corporate exec team event for 10 last Thursday, which was a roaring success! Nicky said, “Having been eerily quiet for 6 months, it was fantastic to once again host safe, socially distanced leadership training across the whole venue, inside and out.”
Feedback included “what an exceptional day! Fab venue, with phenomenal food, we felt safe and creativity flowed “. Nicky hopes this will be the first of many more incredible days where a team benefits from the exclusive use of Woodhaven’s event space.
During lockdown Nicky and Jeremy also sourced “at cost” certified PPE, offering to supply the NHS and the county as well as local businesses and event suppliers. They have also donated masks and shields to the Guildford Street Angels via their venture www.surreyppe.co.uk
