Buyers registered to attend The Meetings Show – the UK’s leading exhibition for event and meeting professionals – are making valuable connections with confirmed exhibitors, two weeks before the event is due to start.

More than 6,000 messages have already been exchanged and hundreds of meetings booked via the Swapcard platform ahead of the show, which will run virtually from 19-21 October.

Hundreds of exhibitors – from UK and international destinations, to destination management companies, event venues, hotels and technology suppliers – will be available to connect in one-to-one online meetings with buyers throughout the duration of The Meetings Show.

International destinations exhibiting include Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, Malta Tourism Authority and Tourism Ireland while VisitScotland, VisitWales, Liverpool and Leicester are among the UK destinations who will be present.

Destinations will brief buyers of recent developments in their regions and discuss how they and their venues and experiences can meet their future meetings, events and incentives needs.

Representatives from the world’s leading conference and event venues and hotel groups will also be on hand to talk to buyers. Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa, which re-opened at the beginning of the year following a EURO 30m renovation, are among those with exciting news and developments to share.

In line with growing interest in hybrid and virtual events and demand for technology to support safe and successful events, there will be a strong presence from technology suppliers at this year’s show. Online event management software companies Cvent, Shocklogic and EventMobi will be showcasing their products and services along with many others.

Jack Marczewski, Event Director, The Meetings Show, said: “We are proud to have a diverse range of exhibitors present at The Meetings Show this year and are pleased to hear that they are already making valuable connections with buyers and are setting up meetings to take place during the show. There are a number of ways those attending the show can connect through the Swapcard platform, so it’s great to see the support from across the industry and know these are already being utilized to bring the meetings and events community together.”

The Meetings Show will run virtually from 19-21 October.
