Stress Matters is the event industry workplace wellbeing organisation. Leading the focus on wellbeing in the events industry since 2017, we have spearheaded a change in attitude and culture. Mental health and wellbeing is now a common topic at trade shows, a regular feature in trade magazines and a 45% increase in companies taking pro-active action*.
We believe that workplace wellbeing is the key to improving profitability by focusing on the productivity of people. We make workplace wellbeing easy and fun by providing insights to guide businesses and acting as an accountability partner, we keep leaders in check and offer services so they can support the people that matter.

We work across 4 levels, ensuring we provide our three key pillars of insights, accountability and support at each level:
We run a free peer-to-peer support programme called Buddies Matter and a Support Line for the industry. The Support Line is run by event industry volunteers across SMS, Whatsapp and phone. It can be contacted on 07471 362 111.
We have been conducting biennial research into the industry since 2017, reports can be found here. We use these insights to build these support programmes for the events industry and providing information back to the industry to support education through our monthly column in Conference News and our wellbeing corners at major industry trade shows.
We are wellbeing partners of Delegate Wranglers, Unique Venues of London, Unique Venues of Manchester, Event Marketing Association, Event Suppliers and Services Association amongst alliances with ILEA and EVCOM.
We run wellbeing audits and write your wellbeing plan workshops for businesses as we know it can seem all very confusing when you first start on your wellbeing journey. We also have a free wellbeing diagnostic tool on our website.
So many people say they are going to improve wellbeing and don’t take any action, we aim to change this! A key component around accountability is the pledge scheme to help tackle the stress epidemic that we are facing in the events industry. Giving companies, big and small, from all corners of the events industry, a framework to guide their wellbeing practices to reduce stress, improve morale and profitability.
Our directors are trained as Mental Health First Aid England Instructors and we conduct in-house and monthly public courses to support our #MHFAEveryEvent campaign where we believe that mental health first aid and physical first aid should have the same level of focus by #eventprofs.
Our wellbeing programmes with experts leading online and offline workshops on areas such as sleep, nutrition, finance, resilience etc are energetic, informative and fun. From 1 hour slots to multi-day programmes.
Everyone is an individual and we provide wellbeing support programmes that work for individuals. Depending on the level of programme selected, each individual will be able to select their perfect balance of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual boosts that they would benefit from.
