The Delegate Wranglers facebook group was the idea of experienced senior events manager, Neil Thompson. Neil has been in the events industry for over 20 years, starting out in 1997 as Event & Promotions Manager for the Littlewoods Group – based in Liverpool, organising internal meetings, new store launches, promotions and fashion shows all over the UK and Ireland.
From here Neil moved onto organising events for pharmaceutical clients, via a mid-sized medical communications agency in Lancaster. This involved plenty of global traveling – at the last count it was 35 countries visited.
In 2005 Neil decided to go it alone and set up his own events company, which he very successfully operated until recently, working with numerous organisations, agencies and associations all over the world.
Neil set up the Delegate Wranglers in February 2014. With the simple ethos behind the group being that members can share the huge expanse of information, expertise and experience that our industry friends, peers and colleagues all have. Essentially, to pay this information forward to each other. From this initial idea, the group has grown in numbers very rapidly and is now THE go to place for the events industry. Features include an events industry jobs board; event calendar; monthly newsletter; venue showcase feature; regular social meet-ups and much more.
