In summary
Responsible for every aspect of the company’s staffing needs, including recruiting, training, staff placements, staff welfare and retention.

About the role

  • Oversee the staffing of Peppermint events, Equals and pop collective
  • Responsible for up to 250 core event staff
  • Oversee the Core team booker, Staffing administrative assistant and Bar manager coordinator ensuring they fulfil their responsibilities as listed within their job descriptions
  • Liaise with Human Resources and the Operations Director to organize the companies training program
  • Work alongside the HR manager developing, revising and recommending personnel policies and procedures
  • Creating and revising job descriptions
  • Developing, analysing and updating the companies pay structure
  • Overseeing recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads
  • Developing, analysing and updating the companies appraisal system
  • Overseeing dispute resolution involving employees
  • Overseeing and developing staff welfare policies
  • Core Team Allocation
  • Event rota and budget planning
  • Working with project managers to ensure all events are costed up accurately
  • Submitting pre-event budget reports
  • Liaise with staffing suppliers to fulfil staffing requirements for major festival events (up to 950 bar staff) including Equals Agency and any brand activations required
  • Booking of equipment and returns
  • Managing the staffing department budget
  • Ensuring H&S policies are adhered to including relevant PPE is worn by all company employees
  • Maintaining department records and reports
  • Participating in administrative staff meetings
  • Recommending new policies, approaches and procedures
  • Overseeing onsite staffing teams to ensure company policies, accurate reporting and staff welfare is adhered to
  • Work and advise the commercial department on bar staff rotas within the pitching process – getting quotes if required.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills

ESSENTIAL:

  • 2 – 3 years solid experience in the event industry within the job role
  • Good working knowledge of IT systems, especially MS Office and Excel
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Previous experience in recruiting skilled staff
  • Previous experience in budget planning
  • Previous experience as a rota planner in the event industry

Location
The role is mainly based from our head office in Oval, London – during the summer the role will involve travelling from event to event.

OPERATING ENVIRONMENT & CONTEXT:
The business is seasonal. Summer months are incredibly busy – busiest periods between June and September. Many event sites are outdoor events and festivals.

TRAVEL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel required to and from events on an ad-hoc basis during the summer months
  • Overnight stays/weekend work will be required

You will manage a team of 3 including assistants and rota planner and bar manager coordinator.
